2 Step Sparring

When performing 2-Step sparring, the participants face each other and bow.  The attacking person begins by stepping back into a right L-stance while performing an outer forearm middle guarding block.  There is no measure taken, however, it is up to the defender to judge the distance correctly for each of the routines to be performed.  

The attacker then performs the attacking techniques as described below while the opponent defends, counter attacks and withdraws in the correct manner.  Both participants return to parallel ready stance and the second participant begins their turn by stepping back into a right L-stance while performing an outer forearm middle guarding block.  Each side should do each of the attacking and defending sequences unless told otherwise.

Number 1
Attack: Right walking stance, forefist middle punch with the right forefist.
Defence: Left walking stance, inner forearm middle block with the left inner forearm.
Attack: Right walking stance, low front snap kick with the left foot, landing in a left walking stance.
Defence: Right walking stance, X-fist pressing block.
Counter attack: Maintaining a right walking stance, twin fist vertical punch to the cheek bones.  
Withdraw: Right leg back into right L-stance, outer forearm middle guarding block.
Number 2
Attack: Right walking stance, forefist middle punch with the right forefist.
Defence: Right L-stance, knifehand middle guarding block.
Attack: Right walking stance, middle side piercing kick with the left foot.
Defence: Left L-stance, outer forearm inward block with the right outer forearm.
Counter attack: Right walking stance (slipping the foot), front elbow strike with the left elbow to the rear of the ribs.  
Withdraw: Right leg back into right L-stance, outer forearm middle guarding block.
Number 3
Attack: Left L-stance, forefist middle punch with the right forefist.
Defence: Right L-stance, inner forearm middle block with the left inner forearm.
Attack: Left L-stance, low front snap kick with the left foot, landing in a left walking stance.
Defence: Right walking stance, knifehand low block with right knifehand.
Counter attack: Maintaining a right walking stance, forefist high punch with the left forefist to the chin.
Withdraw: Right leg back into right L-stance, outer forearm middle guarding block.
Number 4
Attack: Left L-stance, forefist middle punch with the right forefist.
Defence: Right L-stance, palm heel middle block with the left palm heel.
Attack: Left L-stance, front reverse high turning kick with the right foot, bringing the left foot behind the right foot when moving.
Defence: Left L-stance, outer forearm high side block with the right outer forearm.
Counterattack: Jumping while performing a right knife-hand strike to the base of the neck.
Withdraw: Slide back into left L-stance, outer forearm middle guarding block.
Number 5
Attack: Left L-stance, knifehand middle strike with the right knifehand.
Defence: Left L-stance, knifehand middle block with the right knifehand.
Attack: Left L-stance, middle back piercing kick with the left foot.
Defence: Right L-stance, knifehand low block with the left knifehand (height adjusted for the height of kick).
Counterattack: Jumping while performing a left knife-hand strike to the base of the neck.
Withdraw: Slide back into right L-stance, outer forearm middle guarding block.
